About the Artist and Owner of Salt Chuck Art

Emory Banker grew up playing in Alaska, cross country skiing, exploring new trails, and drawing during school. She is a visual learner and hopes to inspire others with what she creates. She attended Savannah College of Art and Design and received a BFA in illustration.

Why Salt Chuck Art?

The name Salt Chuck Art came from my initial inspiration of nature. A salt chuck is where salt water comes into contact with fresh water. Chuck means water or ocean to others. I have always been drawn to the ocean and wanted to represent a home for art even if there’s not a specific location.

I picture a serene river flowing into the ocean, when you can see the red sea of spawning salmon swimming back home. A field of beautiful wildflowers, which bumble bees are buzzing around with sticky pollen on their under bellies. With a smooth rocky beach, and protective mountains surrounding, where bear cubs chase after each other and kayakers take a pic nic.

Emory is working on an illustrated guide on how to cross country ski. With her 10 years of coaching experience and dedication to art and helping others, there’s not a better person to persue this passion project.
